WELCOME TO THE LONDON CRIMINAL JUSTICE BOARD (CJB)
Whether a victim of crime, a witness to a crime or even sitting on a jury most Londoners will have some dealings with the criminal justice system (CJS) during their lifetime.
The London CJB works with the agencies that make up the CJS - the police, the courts, victim support, the probation service, youth justice services and the prisons - to ensure that anyone who has anything to do with the system in London experiences an effective and responsive service.
Our work is wide and far reaching. For example, we are working to make London's communities safer by coordinating an innovative pilot called the Diamond Initiative, which aims to stop offenders committing crime again, and our new Youth Strategy will help agencies engage young people at risk before they offend.
