Association of Personal Injury Lawyers

The Association of personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) is dedicated to improving the service provided to victims of accidents and clinical negligence. Over 5,000 solicitors and barristers work with the association to fight for law reform to improve access to justice. Although APIL cannot offer legal advice or guidance we may be able to point you in the right direction.

Law Reporting

The Incorporated Council of Law Reporting is a charitable organisation dating back to 1865. Their aim is to provide reports of any cases which change or modify the law. The reports are free and are made by barristers or soliciters who have been present throughout the case in hand. They also provide other services ad have an on-line bokshop.

Legal Secretariat to the Law Officers

The Legal Secretariat to the Law Officers' objective is to provide high-grade legal advice and support to the Attorney General and the Solicitor General (the Law Officers).

Legal Services Commission

The Legal Services Commission is an executive non-departmental public body created under the Access to Justice Act 1999 to replace the Legal Aid Board. It is responsible for the development and administration of two schemes in England and Wales.

Legal Services Research Centre

The Legal Services Research Centre (LSRC), formerly the Legal Aid Board Research Unit (LABRU), is the research division of the Legal Services Commission (LSC). It was set up in 1996 to inform legal aid policy and the implementation of reform. It has a broad remit to conduct strategic research in the civil and criminal justice fields.
