Where can I find organisations for women offenders?

Nacro, the crime reduction charity

Nacro is an independent voluntary organisation working to prevent crime by developing and implementing effective approaches to tackling crime and dealing constructively with offenders. It manages a wide range of projects throughout England and Wales.

218 offers women offenders in Glasgow programmes of care, support and development designed to stop women's offending by tackling the root causes that drive it.

Women in Prison (WIP)

Set up in 1983 by an ex-offnder, WIP provides welfare and education to women in prison. This includes practical support with housing, contact with children and help with drug and alcohol problems.

The Griffins Society

The Griffins Society was established in 1966 and works for the care and resettlement of female offenders, including those with a history of violence and / or mental illness. The society has more recently begun work on research concerning wider resettlement issues.
