It describes how the CJS will approach the challenge of taking forward reform during the year, increasingly with LCJBs taking the lead, and outlines the funding and support that will enable LCJBs to meet these challenges.
The business plan marks the first year of the new Criminal Justice Strategic Plan for 2008 – 2011, Working Together to Cut Crime and Deliver Justice. The strategic plan sets out the Government's vision for a more efficient and effective Criminal Justice System which engages the public, inspires confidence and puts the needs of the victim at its heart. It also supports the Government's drive to make communities safer by reducing crime and re-offending.
